The storySHOP project

The storySHOP project

StorySHOP - Storytelling for Social and Health Care Workers Professional Identity Development is a Leonardo Transfer of Innovation project, aimed at developing a training programme based on digital storytelling addressing healthcare workers in Europe.

Indeed, people who are professionally involved in the care of people who are suffering or in need, are at high risk of experiencing excessive stress, due to a possible disproportionate involvement with their clients’ situations.
Storytelling was chosen as the leading training methodology on which to base StorySHOP’s products because it allows participants to analyse and understand complex situations, which could cause suffering, without having to directly talk about them. Therefore, it is an innovative and effective technique to overcome emotionally stressful environments, and turn them into situations that can be faced in normal day-to-day life.

The main objective of the resources produced by the project will be to enable participants to establish balanced relationships with clients, and to avoid burnout.
